Cheval Bayard Fairy

Cheval Bayard Fairy

The Cheval Bayard Fairy is a hobgoblin from Normandy. The Cheval Bayard Fairy is also known as a Lutin when in his hobgoblin guise but Cheval Bayard when he takes the form of a horse.

When mortals see him in his horse form and try to ride him, the Cheval Bayard rears and throws his rider into the hedges and bushes.

According to a French Fairytale, Le Prince Lutin, which was written in 1697, the Cheval Bayard has the power to fly without wings and to have the power of invisibility. The story says that a red hat with two feathers makes the Lutin invisible.
